All Chuffed Candles are free from added scents. Beeswax naturally carries a subtle honey-like scent.
-
Biodegradable – you can safely add undyed beeswax to your compost.
-
Efficiency – Beeswax has the ability to burn for extended periods of time without the use of additives. Plus, many beeswax candles (including straight tapers) drip little wax when burning, if at all.
-
Versatility – You might enjoy reusing your leftover beeswax for your own creations like lip balm or wood polish (not recommended for dyed wax).
-
Environmental sustainability - Unlike paraffin wax, beeswax isn't a bi-product of the fossil fuel industry. Paraffin wax (also known as mineral wax) is used in a majority of candles sold today. This includes many soy wax candles, which more often than not are blended with paraffin.
-
Health - Many people ask about the health benefits of beeswax and the risks of other waxes. From the research I've done it seems to be a foggy area lacking consensus in every direction. As someone living with chronic illness I tend to steer clear of additives as I feel there is a lot of undertested, underregulated stuff out there such as PFAS. At the end of the day everyone has different values and preferences and health encompasses many factors including spiritual, psychological, social, economic, environmental etc. so choose what's right for you.
